I invite you to plan ahead for your weekend and build into it some space for yourself. The earth is beginning to move from spring to summer so the wintery feel of the dark moon will not be as intense as at other times of the year, but it is still a time of listening to our internal voices and caring for ourselves and our own needs.
Feel into what would feel good to yourself this week, whether that be a long soak in a bath or time alone with a great book. Stillness and quiet also do not need to be solitary experiences, there is a beautiful sense of peace that can arrive in the most chaotic of family moments. When you hold yourself back slightly from the crazy dinnertime conversation or play fight happening in the garden, as all the noise and bustle mutes itself for a moment and you observe the love, connection and trust that is unfolding in front of you. These moments can offer us the deep knowing that everything is okay that we reach for through meditation or time alone if we let them.

What is your response to your body and mind’s need for rest? Is it something you avoid or feel like you just don’t have time for, is it something you crave but are waiting for someone else to facilitate for you? Our relationship to resting is usually a complicated one, and I invite you this week to peel off another layer of this aspect of yourself. Do you need to be separate from your everyday life to feel like you are taking time for yourself? Can you challenge yourself to find the moments that restore you within the hectic nature of your life?
